Coverage & Sizes

Size Coverage (sq ft) Number of Coats Required
8 oz 25–35 sq ft 1–2 coats
16 oz 50–70 sq ft 1–2 coats
32 oz 100–140 sq ft 1–2 coats

Directions

  • Clean the surface thoroughly. Sand if necessary to smooth rough patches.
  • Using a rag, brush, damp sponge, or spatula, apply a thin, even coat of Finishing Glaze.
  • Let the glaze absorb into the surface for 12–24 hours.
  • Wipe off any excess glaze after it’s absorbed.
  • Apply additional coats as needed. Typically, 1–2 coats will suffice for most surfaces.
  • Full curing takes approximately 30–60 days, depending on the thickness of the glaze applied.

Hints & Tips

  • For a smooth, professional finish, we recommend a cross-hatch method when applying with a brush.
  • If the glaze is too thick, thin it with RMP Pine Solvent or Half & Half.
  • Work in small sections to avoid drying marks or streaking.
  • Apply over Real Milk Paint after it has fully dried. If you need to distress the finish, Finishing Glazes help create a more natural look.
  • Consider sealing with RMP Low Sheen or Dead Flat Finishing Cream first to prevent the glaze from soaking too deeply into porous paint.
